Anyone watching this?

Basically a ship is sent to make first contact with an alien race. Things start to go bad. Many horror.

Quite enjoyed it. Production values are high, a friend of mine actually worked on some of the sets they had in Ireland and said they were very cool. The acting is solid and the plot moves along nicely.
Its similar to Event Horizon so if you like that sort of thing well worth a watch.
In a way it reminded me of 40k a bit too with its characters, you have the navigator who can interface with the ship, the alpha level "psykers", the security teams as the guardsmen, the scientists as the magos etc.

There was a movie back in 1987 or so. An awfully dated 80s SF movie at that.

So any relation to "Event Horizon" is coincidental, since the source material predates it somewhat.

This series is based off a George RR short story I believe.
Dont think its related to the 80s movie?

That's my point.

THIS series AND THAT 80s movie are BOTH based off the VERY same GRRM NOVEL (from when GRRM was better known as an SF writer).

I have an autographed copy of said book on my bookshelf. He came out to a small aussie SF con in the late 80s.
