So, bought this earlier in the week and having a blast playing pvp whether 1v1 or 2v2.
However, some of the faction balance, or lack thereof, is obnoxious.
Tau + Eldar is practically an auto win.
Please spare me the 'git good' meme.
So, which faction do you have the worst time against and have you come up with a counter to them?
|
Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you. |

What's that? Eldar being utterly overpowered in every single game they have been in?

I've had my eye on it but it seems the one big thing I wanted from them - bigger fleets - hasn't come to be. A huge shame since it was one thing that the first game always felt a bit short on - having more than 6 or so ships. Esp once one got up in the levels and you still had the same number of ships they were just "bigger"

Eldar autowin ? They are quite skill intensive and if you catch them in the wrong place to tend to fold.
With good positioning, you can bully them quite effectively as well.
I have play far less tau, but i did not think they where that far ahead ether.
I love the game for the most part myself, having lots of fun.
Glad they have not done bigger fleets, not sure the map is big enough and with the high mobility fleets its hard enough watching the ships each match.
But i could see why players would want that, In SIngle player i would be happy to see bigger fleets
I find imperial, and orks the hardest. Depending on the fleet make up. Ork firepower seems way nasty up close, so if they position well they can be really hard to push of the points for me D:

What faction are you playing?
Tau are stupidly easy to beat, find the command ship and ram it to death, the rest of the fleet folds quickly after that, booting and brace away from torps and manta into clouds and your sorted.
Orks, if you are imperial hit them with melta torps and generally kite them until they are split, kill the command ships and they fold easily.

Generally Chaos, lance heavy but now trying out heavy launch bays. Smattering of Necrons, 2xDirge and a Cairn.

Chaos lances are pretty bad right now, unless you run Tzeench clouds and go from cover to cover with them, annoyingly chaos do best by spamming murders with AP rounds, stick them on reload for around 2/3rds more DPS over the game, always target decks then engines, the Deck is primary on enemy flagship especially Tau and Orks, Chaos fighter fleets are a bit lackluster right now too, taking 4 GC carriers is very very good though just make sure you stay out of reach, use your fighters to scout enemy ships then target them with fighters to strip turrets from the enemy fleet, target 1 ship at a time and swarm it with fighters, as soon as 1 or 2 ships have zero turrets then you send in the assault boats or bombers, making sure you hit those engines.
Necrons are an uphil struggle until you hit lvl8+ and unlock the good stuff, 2 cairns is a meme right now and not that good, 3 scythes and some frigates or a LC work well, take the LC as your command ship and use it as bait, as soon as the enemy fleet pounces on it recall all your ships to it and laugh as the enemy panics

Will do, assuming you are on Steam.
As a matter fact if anyone else on Dakka is looking for games of BF2 on Steam give a shout out to fellow Dakkanauts.
PM for details.
See you in the crucible of the 13th Black Crusade.
