I am not trying to stifle the opinion of anyone here, but this is a seemingly controversial topic that unfortunately devolves into fighting and name-calling of sorts. We had two conversations about this in the past week that illustrate my point. This is just a suggestion.

I think it's possible to have a constructive discussion on this topic, but that last one wasn't that.

Oh, I see. I just read the other thread, I hadn't known it happened.

This apparently is a topic that lends itself towards.... extreme opinions, which is weird because this is a very old hobby and not a new problem.

I appeal that this thread is completely de consructive to effect any posttive constructive construction on constructing weather this is actually a good thread.

Because, its leaning towards extremism.

Yeah i agree, i wasn't going to say any thing because i said i wouldn't make any conspiracys, but it does seem like one.

Really what needs to happen are certain people need to stop suggesting that their way is the only way to play the hobby and actually have a constructive argument about it.

It seems a lot of people got in to the hobby to play games with friends, not have arts and crafts time and respect whatever "traditions" some weirdos on the internet have come up with. If paints get you this heated, you probably need to excuse yourself from the threads pertaining to them.

If posters continue to lack self control, then suspensions/bans should be handed out. I see no reason to ban this topic. Just people from the topic.

Excuse me, you don't know how to speak with manners? I never said you're weird for ranting and raving with your posts on this section( https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/770483.page ) of the forums. Grow up.

The problem is you can't ban one side of a conversation without it seeming like censorship. To be fair, you'd have to ban both sides of the argument, in other words prohibit the subject.

You are just making it a bigger deal then it is with making this thread to be honest in my opinion, so better to just leave it since the majority agrees that painting and war gaming like 40k go hand in hand. There are other games like D&D and their models are already painted right???

Hi Folks.

If two threads have already had the hammer dropped on them, it might be a good idea to let this one go.

For the record, I like playing with and against painted armies. I don’t have a fully painted army, myself, but it’s mostly painted to a decent standard.

I play against well painted, decently painted, poorly painted and unpainted minis. I like hanging out with my friends and having something to do while we do that. Just a game, to me. Other people are different. They can have fun where they are, and I can have fun over here.

Everybody gets along in their own way.

My tradition is to play naked, covered only in war paint, screaming battle cries the entire time. Everyone should respect my tradition.

There were quite a few referring to how stores should prohibit people from playing with unpainted armies. Again, this is beside the point.

Your personal tradition doesn't really mean any thing in terms of what the general war gaming tradition is. No offense
