So I missed out on a 40k GT ticket (#133 on the wait list) this year at the Nova Open and put myself on the wait list for the kill team GT (only #4 there). I'm holding out hope I can get into the KT GT I've not played the new version of KT but I did buy the core rules when it came out however no one at my club plays it so I haven't had a chance to try it out. That being said I have a ton of 40k imperial armies, necrons, tau and some eldar. What's considered competitive in KT these days? Any suggestions for lists I should consider/research? Is there anything else I should consider buying outside the core rules if I already own all of the models?

A counter set is useful and if they're allowing them this year you'll want the tactics from the team box (they didn't allow the extra tactics last year but the vast majority of factions didn't have them then). They've said they're using the GW tournament packet which does allow them now.

The big question is - are they going to be using Arena or not. I don't believe they've stated either way. That shifts the meta significantly.
