Bit short notice but hoping to get some ideas:

Had a game with a Tau player a week or so ago, his Tau vs my Knights:

His list:
- Shadowsun
- Ethereal
- Darkstrider
- Fireblade

- 6x 5-man Fire Warrior squads

- 3x Marksman

- 2x Riptides w. HBC

- 3x Broadsides w. HYMP

- Large number of Shield Drones

I ran 4x Knights including a Cawl's Wrath Castellan and lost horrible. He destroyed a Knight every turn thanks to careful use of strategems. It was only thanks to Noble Sacrifice that I managed to wipe out about 600pts of his force in one go and make a tabling into a narrow defeat.

I'm playing again later today and he's running a similar list. I've decided to go with my Marines this time, and am running something along these lines.

- Lias Issodon
- Librarian
- Lieutenant

- 10x Intercessors
- 10x Tacticals w. Plasma
- 5x Tacticals w. Plasma

- 10x Reivers

- Leviathan Dreadnought w. Stormcannons + Hunter Killers
- 10x Hellblasters
- 5x Devs w. Missile Launchers
- 5x Devs w. Heavy Bolters

- Assassin (TBC using the new strategem)

Running as Raven Guard obviously, I've used variations of this list before and it's been very effective against a few armies. Castling up the Hellblasters, Devs and Leviathan around Lias and the Lieutenant for re-rolls to all misses and wounds of 1. Lias' Warlord Trait gives extra Ap on a wound of 6, the extra survivability of the RG penalty should help the gunline stay in place a little while longer.

Now I'm thinking should I swap out the Reivers for the Loyal 32 for an extra 5CP? What should my basic strategy be?

Dakka is the ork word for shooting, but the ork concept of shooting is saturation fire. Just as there is no such thing as a "miss" in a target-rich environment, there is no such thing as a "dodge" in a bullet rich one

We use different Marines, but when I fight Tau my basic plan is to focus on one of his big suits at a time. This means clearing out the Shield Drones within Savioir Protocols range of my target first. Your Bolt Rifles can help there with the Beta and their range. The Heavy Bolters should also shine - dishing out some Mortal Wounds can be good. Null Zone can help but it's near impossible to pull off unless you are on a bike.

All you have to do is fire three rounds a minute, and stand

Not sure wherever it was bad luck on my part, the Drones were damn hard to shift. You're right with Null Zone, I think Smite and Psychic Scourge would be good to chuck some Mortals out there, but the range is pretty short for it.
