So, I'm a little confused as to the new system. If I bring my World Eaters to an event, do I still get scored under WE or am I now under the Khorne category?

Depends on how you build your list. If you are pure World Eaters, then it would be World Eaters. If you have a detachment of anything else then you would be Chaos/Khorne/whatever.

Summoned Daemons won't count against you. Only what is written on your actual list before the game counts.

Thanks, I read the article you linked. But the way I read it made it seem like they were no longer counting subfactions of the Chaos codex.

Just to clarify, best in faction for ITC has never been based on sub-factions without their own codex like World Eaters (or Ravenguard or Tallarn or whatever). The app lets you pick them but they get resolved for tracking ranking under the parent faction (in this case World Eaters counts has counted Chaos Space Marine/Hereitic Astartes and still counts for that now). With the new change to how you determine ITC faction, they added god specific ITC faction. However you determine faction also by specificity (with Chaos being less speciific then Khorne and Khorne being less specific then Chaos Demon or CSM). So if your army was World Eaters, despite being all Khorne, CSM is actually more specific. Hope that helps!

I see now. So even though it keeps track of my World Eaters, it counts towards Heretic Astartes. But if I say play WE with a splash of Khorne Daemons, I'll count as Khorne instead.
