Hey all

I have a really really old Captain Tycho model, the one they actually sold under the name Blood Angels Captain, to repaint.

I've seen the way GW do their Sanguinary Guard/Stormcast, which seems to be their defacto gold armour method at this time.

I am also trying to be a bit of a cheapskate. I really don't want to spend £6+ on the two gold paints (Retributor Armour/Liberator Gold) that I don't have, as I'll very very likely only use them on this model.

So, I'm wondering if this, working with the paints I have, would look any good on him?

Base of a brown or black, probably brown. Followed by Balthasar Gold Air, followed by Agrax Earthshade, followed by Gehenna's Gold (or a 50/50-ish mix of Gehnna's Gold and Auric Armour Gold), and for edge highlights Auric Armour Gold and Runefang Steel.

Thanks in advance

For gold i do retributor armour gold then Nuln oil wash / Auric armour gold / Liberator gold , Over what ever the primed color is, grey / black etc, seems to look good to me. Don't know if that helps but good luck any way. ( you can see alot of gold in my pictures )

Edit - But what you said sounds fine, i assume you mean its primed brown or black?
