I've got an eldar jetbike modelling project on the go. Just hypothetically, if you were to design a competitive mixed aeldari list that consisted entirely of jetbikes (including vypers, starweavers, venoms, skyweavers) how would you build it?

I was thinking a fair few shining spears, plenty of venoms full of kabalites, some scatter-bikes and some skyweavers.

Well if you're including Venoms as jetbikes and not skimmers you've done 90% of the work. Sprinkle in a few Craftworld psykers with Windriders and Spears supported by Blaster toting Kabalites and make vroom vroom noises all day long.

I've always like this concept.

With the changes to Doom/Jinx, etc to only effect Asuryani units, I think it dramatically change what you need to bring.
Personally, I fill up the list with Shining Spears first and foremost, with Autatchs, Farseers & Warlocks to buff them.

If you must take Venoms, I'd just do the minimum to get 3 Kabalite to fill a Battalion. I have no good suggestions for DE HQs for that.

Finally, I have an Outrider with Skyweavers. They may not be able to benefit from Doom anymore, but they can still provide some much needed anti-tank.

The downside to this list is that it will be light on CPs (1 Battalion and 2 Outriders) and way to heavy on HQs.

My long term theme army is a tripple elf bike list. I wrote it up on battle scribe and posted it to the Army List forum. Its 2800 points so it needs some editing. The problem is a battalion of Harliquins is a thousand points.

Cheers for the advice. I do like the idea of cruising at about 24" away with lots of -1 to hit then counter attack with spears or skyweavers of the enemy gets too close.

It is a bit unfortunate I'm in the middle of the project when the Doom/jinx nerf happens - was liking the idea of using it as a lens to focus all the armies firepower on a unit per turn

Which you can still do, but you'll have to be a bit heavy on the CWE units.

Don't underestimate Autarch Skyrunners with Reaper Launcher. I often run 2 of them and they do fine work stripping wounds. You can also make one of them your WL and give him/her Mark of the Incomparable Hunter and snipe support characters pretty easily

Yeah, I've just finished my jetseer, so doom will definitely be on the table. I'll have a look at the autarch. It'd be an index build though would it not?

I've got a few vypers from the windrider battle box at christmas. I noticed they have a points decrease in the latest chapter approved which could help make them more viable in a doom/jinx craftworld list

Yeah, the Autarch only gets the Reaper Launcher (and Banshee Mask) via the Index, which is sad since Autarchs are supposed to be the customizable Captains/Generals of the CWE.

Autarch Skyrunner only getting the option for Laser lance -OR- Fusion gun is dumb. At the very list the Codex should have allowed both at the same time. But as long as the Index options are valid, Autarchs (plural) are going to stay in my lists.
Remember too that the Banshee Mask uses the rules from the Codex. So no Overwatch from a Charging Autarch either. That can be used to protect other bike units by having the Autarch charge first.

Side note, Autarch with Reaper Launcher is the ONLY unit in all of CWE that effectively utilizes BOTH affects of Saim-Hann. Shining Spears don't get Heavy Weapons and Windriders/Vypers almost NEVER want to charge.
But the Reaper/Lance Autarch has both a Heavy and likes to charge
Although you're probably still better off going Alaitoc in competitive games

With the banshee mask on an Autarch, and the starmist rainment you could have 2 units immune to overwatch. Combined with the huge movment you will have you are very likely to have a 3rd unit that could set up to charge from behind a corner.
