I doubt the rules are going to sell out right away. Even if they did, we already have a good idea which models are being added to Kill Team and how the subfaction traits work. It also won't be long before your favorite list building program has most of them until Games Workshop can restock them.
As for the Kill Team specific boxed sets, are any of them that good of deal this time around? The feedback I have heard on the new terrain/board is incredibly lackluster due to apparently having about half the terrain as the previous ones. I don't really know what the mark up is for the Elites faction sets compared to the regular model kit. I would assume at least $10 US more much like the original Kill Team faction starters which, in my opinion, isn't really that good of deal even grading on the GW curve.
The Kill Team faction starters have really only been kinda nice provided you want the terrain (such as in the case of the Tau one) to still not really worth it (the Necron one). It isn't like you need the cards and tokens even the new Tactics ones.
None of the this release screams, "Oh my gosh! I am going to get it even if I don't play Kill Team because it is such a good deal!" Like much of the initial stuff. I just don't see any kind of rush to get any of it. I know myself, I waiting a bit on picking up the rules. And I don't plan on picking up any of the Elites faction boxes until probably around Black Friday. If they happen to be sold out, well I didn't want them that much anyways.
