Hey everybody, its been an age since I last posted here so first off, sorry if anything is amiss. Recently I've decided to make a concentrated effort to improve my skills, and these are photos of my first attempt. I'm looking to improve upon faces/flesh and finally get NMM to work for me. Unfortunately my camera skills clearly need work as well. Anyway, any and all criticism or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Good work. my suggestion would be to bring up your highlights more. I bring my forehead areas to pretty much pure white, same around the cheeks and the tip of the nose and chin. this provides focal points and helps your faces stand out.

for the metal my advice would be the same. get some pure white on the edge highlight, and pick out the bright spots with a little white too. this will increase your contrast and give it that metallic shine.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm going to be working on some sisters of slaughter soon so I'll be sure to put your advice to use. I was also thinking of deepening the glazes that lead from the shadows (like under the cheeks in the case of this test), just to add some more contrast.

Yeah glazes under the cheek bones work too. I can't tell if you've painted the bottom lip, but I tend to do them with pure bugmans glow, and add a little white highlight, then I take the upper lip down to pure white to give nice contrast.
