Hi all! I've just begun a Rogue Trader campaign (Which I'm enjoying GMing thoroughly, despite struggling a lot with the Starship Combat rules, but that's due to a lack of prep, really) And I've just got the PCs on a filler sidequest where they were hired by the governor of Footfall to investigate into horrific murders (It's the Murder Room from the Disciples of the Dark Gods which is one of my favourite splat books ever)

I have a lot of Dark Heresy splat books I wish to use in this Rogue Trader campaign, so here's my question, I've spent a lot of money on them which I don't want to 'waste' in all honesty. How do you best insert elements from Dark Heresy into Rogue Trader, scenarios and factions and that sort of stuff? I really want them to encounter The Menagerie and such factions as they are just too awesome not to use too. They have an NPC Inquisitor working with them so if they hit a brick wall.

Or with anything such as Only War or Deathwatch. And with Only War, I've been thinking of running a campaign sometime but it feels like it would be very hard to have a diversity of scenarios in a game designed...well...being around Only War.

I would love to hear what my fellow GMs have done to get around this and players of course who's GMs have done a great job in this.

Also, my players have some great backstories to their characters but I'm finding it hard to think of ways to intertwine their backstories into the campaign (I did it with DH but RT seems a whole different kettle of fish)

Thanks!

"The best way to lie is to tell the truth." Attelus Kaltos.
My story! Secret War
After his organisation is hired to hunt down an influential gang leader on the Hive world, Omnartus. Attelus Kaltos is embroiled deeper into the complex world of the Assassin. This is the job which will change him, for better or for worse. Forevermore. Chapter 1.

The Angaran Chronicles: Hamar Noir. After coming back from a dangerous mission which left his friend and partner, the werewolf: Emilia in a coma. Anargrin is sent on another mission: to hunt down a rogue vampire. A rogue vampire with no consistent modus operandi and who is exceedingly good at hiding its tracks. So much so even the veteran Anargrin is forced into desperate speculation. But worst of all: drive him into desperate measures. Measures which drives Anargrin to wonder; does the ends, justify the means?
