Curious though if anyone has used Gundam arms with any success? If so, what size/model did you use?

I used the shapeways arms. (By blue something or other)

The issue i found when searching gundams is they all have 2 problems. The first is the wrong aesthetic. Its a broad statment and there are a LOT of gundams so you might find some you personally like. Good luck.

The second is the wrong number of fingers. Tau have 3 fingers and a thumb. Gundams mimic human hands and have 4 fingers and a thumb. Makes them look out of place with the rest of the army imo.
