Hello to all DakkaDakka users!

Joined the forum in the hopes of finding people to play against, preferably ones I can beat, tho that is optional.

First got into the hobby way back in the early 90's and have left and returned to it several times since then, most recently came back about 3 years ago. Always been a Blood Angels player, but over the years I've dabbled in Blood Bowl, Warhammer, Space Marine, Necromunda and Battlefleet Gothic. Probably others that my brain is refusing to remember. I remember buying Titan Legions when it first came out as well. Loved the Imperator!!

I'm 37, male, and on a good day I have most of my faculties. Hoping this forum opens up some new gaming possibilities for me.

Can't imagine there's anything else people would want to know about me, so I'll end it here.

You will have probably found the Player Finder at the top of the forum. There is the Local Gaming thread, which you've posted in. The local clubs section looks a bit sparce in your area though. Redditch Warming Society is the only club posting.
Facebook looks to be the best place to find gamers these days. You'll probably have run into these people:

Thanks for the welcome and the info. I guess I'm going to have to work out how to use facebook properly and see what I can find.

As for photos, sadly I dont have anything left from my previous forays into GW. When I was a teen, my mother chucked all my stuff in the bin because I spilled some paint on the carpet. Another time, I needed to raise funds for personal reasons and sold all my stuff. The third time, lost it all when my converted shed burned to the ground. I'm thinking this time around, the zombie apocalypse will start and I'll have to barter it all away for food. Reckon I could get a few tins of beans for my Sanguinius with diorama base.....I want to cry now.

Eh, I had to shift all of my original stuff to pay for university. I'd have been better off forgoing a night out (is all I got for it all), and selling it afterwards.

That shop seems to be based in Surrey, which is too far. Selling GW stuff for cheaper than GW is interesting tho.
I’ve bitten the bullet and used Facebook to contact my nearest GW, hoping they’ll be able to help. Might just have to go to a games night one week and actually talk to people. Emperor save me!!

After all the time and effort I’ve put into painting Sanguinius (not finished the base yet), I’m not going to break it on a zombie skull! I’ll use my kids as a distraction first and just run away.

I will have to post some picture of my models tho, I was never much good at painting but now I seem to be ok at it and having strangers go “oooh, that’s quite good” is an ego boost I can handle!
