I am coming back into 40k after a long hiatus. New to 8th edition, and I wanted to get some feedback on the list I am planning to build towards. I would rather not buy something that is going to be tabled a ton. I just picked up the Start Collecting box, so I have Ahriman, 10 Rubrics and 10 Tzaangors. I can move down to 1500 or up to 2000 from this core list:

The Plan is to have a DP and 30 Tzaangors push forward and wreck. Ahriman and the enlightened tzaangors team up with the herald on a disc for the +1 invuln and patrol the mid to back field, dropping prescience on the Forgefiend or the Pink Horrors, healing everyone up and doombolting backfield chargers. The herald powers I'm up in the air on, but I do think Flickering Fire to double buff the fiend sounds fun. I want to try the extra re-roll or infernal gateway for the second power, but I seem to have enough smite currently, so I went with the free re-roll.

The footslogging Rubrics have an Aspiring Sorceror with Glamour, and the Exalted Sorceror with both Warptime and Weaver of Fate, so the unit can move around, shoot the insides out of things, and either give the giant pink horror or tzaangor blobs a bonus to their save, or give themselves a combo of defensive buffs to weather a good bit of small arms fire when camping is in order. The Exalted Sorceror has a Dark Matter Crystal on top, which can combine with Warptime to put a big beast herd or Diabolically Strong DP directly in your face out of nowhere.

The horrors deepstrike in the the changling and flickerfire at something valuable. The Mutalith is there to buff them up to Str 5, at 90 shots and re-rolling wounds. Another good prescience target. Brimstones and cultist just kinda bubble wrap the Forgefiend and hide on objectives.

Thoughts, opinions, models, equipment, whatever?

Why no boon of change for pinks ? You cant use prescience on pinks, they arent HERETIC ASTARTES.

Slogging Tzangors across the map is asking for trouble, best thing is to get dark matter crystal and throw them across the map and make them a real problem for the enemy backline.

I have a ton of CP, so I can swap the extra reroll power on the herald for Boon.

The Exaulted Sorcerer is supposed to have the Dark Matter Crystal Im not sure why he doesn't but a definite auto-include. I paid the CP for the extra relic too, good catch thanks
