The Khinerai and Witch Aelf models are gorgeous, and why should Thousand Sons get to have all the fun poaching Age of Sigmar models for their roster?

The rules below let you use Khinerai Heartrenders or Khinerai Lifetakers in a Drukhari army simply by adding a few new weapon options and a new ability to the Scourge entry. Give them the venom blade (barbed sickle) for scything through hordes, or a power lance (barbed javelin) for tougher targets, with the mirrorshard shield (heartpiercer shield) as an example of the Drukhari's cruel and bizarre alien technology.

I've also revived the old, defunct Bloodbrides datasheet, to allow you to use Sisters of Slaughter or Witch Aelves in a Drukhari army. You can give the entire unit agonizers (barbed whips) to really tear through toughened targets, but where these untouchable celebrity idols of the Comorragh murder-circuit shine is in their ability to instill an enraptured (or jealous) frenzy in those around them, inspiring the Drukhari to greater heights of murder. As with the Scourges, each individual loadout is legal in Age of Sigmar (with the exception of unit leaders), allowing you to transfer your models back and forth easily.

This unit contains 1 Solarite and 4 Scourges. It can include up to 5 additional Scourges (Power Rating +3) or up to 10 additional Scourges (Power Rating +6). Each model is armed with a shardcarbine and plasma grenades.

Wargear Options
  • Any Scourge may replace their shardcarbine with two of the following: mirrorshard shield, power lance or venom blade.
  • Up to four Scourges may replace their shardcarbine with either a splinter cannon, dark lance, heat lance, shredder, haywire blaster or blaster.

  • Winged Strike: During deployment, you can set up this unit flying high in the skies instead of placing it on the battlefield. At the end of any of your Movement phases the Scourges can use a winged strike to arrive – set them up anywhere on the battlefield that is more than 9" away from any enemy models.

The scourges seem solid to me. You could argue that letting them be decent at melee might step on hellions' suboptimal toes a bit, but venom blades and power lances on a relatively expensive platform are very different animals from hell glaives on relatively cheap hellions.

Blood brides have me mildly concerned. Each Cult of Strife blood bride with an agonizer and +1 attack would have have comparable offense to a red grief or cursed blade succubus with an agonizer. Identical offense on turn 3 onwards. Now, 4 agonizer attacks per model on an expensive squad that melts to shooting might not be that big a deal next to some of the more competitive melee threats in other books, but I feel like it might very well be the most cost effective melee murder squad in our book point for point.

I'm also a little iffy on the +1 attack aura given that a 10 blood bride squad could have a pretty huge footprint. It also sort of feels like a form of cooperative support even if it's fluffed as jealousy.

But those are nitpicks. If the kills per points come out as being roughly as efficient as grotesques and incubi, then I'm okay with it. Overall, these look good.

    ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.
