There is much inconsistency in LoW rules, somethings such as knights have there own rule set, some are applying the rule set of another main codex like a baneblade or a lord of skulls. Because these units are basically 3x or more powerful than the standard vehicles that means any multipliers applied to them will have a 3x or more effect on that unit than the multiplier is usuallly balanced for. Example, allowing rerolling hits and wounds on a leman russ is 4x less efficient than rerolling hits and wounds on a baneblade. Therefore the cost for this type of power amp should cost proportionally more in value.

I think that cost is calculated in the units points. Otherwise you'd constantly be recalculating costs for various units. For instance using your example rerolling hits on a unit of obliterators would cost more than on a single character.

Not really, the value of the amp is calculated to a limit is my point, you don't have to make it less for things that are weaker than the ceiling. But LoW specifically are way above that ceiling and should have a unique set.

A lot of LOWs need these multipliers to not be complete gak, their pts are way too high at base level so you'd need to reduce their cost a lot to balance things out. Many more are actually complete gak despite any relatively OP buffs they benefit from. Like Astra Militarum Titanic Tanks for example, they benefit from some really strong buffs from their psykers and support tanks, but without them they aren't worth much, still some of those tanks are still not worth using even with combos that make them greater than the sum of their parts.

Anyways the stipulation is hillarious, especially on a Baneblade.
Because why bother with a Baneblade when the Job gets done equally aswell by basic leman russes.
Additionally knights have anyways pushed nearly all low out.
As for Chaos low, like with all Chaos atm, you need to stack way to high to actually be worth it.
But that is just my 2cents in about 100 games now in 8th

That's on purpose. Gw wants to sell knights. How else do you explain the huge points jump they gave the fw super heavys in ca? 1 fellblade doesn't equal 2 baneblades but that's close to the current cost. But with the current cost that's what you pay. They could at least make the hellforged ones relentless. Only super heavys I'm aware of that aren't.
