So, I decided to go with Raven Guard as my SM Chapter, but was wondering what Raven Guard fluff armies usually comprised of? Assault Marines/Vanguard Marines/Scouts/Eliminators/Inceptors/Reivers? Any ideas?

Eliminators are going to be a star unit for raven guard I think, load up on them.

troop wise, you might be tempted to go with infiltratrors or incursors, but I think Intercessors might be a good choice, any of the bolt rifle options are good, I'd go with at least one ten man squad with the stalker bolters. you'll be able to spend some CPs to make them sniper weapons and proably delete a enemy character.

beyond your snipers I belvie raven guard will also want to have some units deploy up close. to effectively force your enemy to deal with a hard melee assault and thus not be able to counter your snipers.

that said, I'd pick up the raven guard supplement this weekend and then examine the stratigiums etc carefully.

Depends on how much you want to go with original marines vs primaris.

Original marines would consist of a lot of jump pack units, scouts, tacticals (mostly in drop pods) with speeder support.

That being said while all marine chapters have a preferred fighting style, its rare for a chapter to totally swear off a given unit or tactic. Don't feel that your doing something wrong if you bring a dreadnaught or a TFC

As for Primaris, no clue, I don't mess with them.

I just did a test game VS the new RG today vs my WE. I got deleted by T3. ITC style game I lost 39-10. It wasn't even close. Just felt outlassed the whole time. He ran 4 units of sniper scouts, 3 units elims, intersessors, hunter tanks, smash captain, shrike, grav centurions, various HQ's and aggressors. My characters got sniped off the board pretty quickly. Elims don't care about ruins rules or cover. So they just shot my hidden characters. my support shooting got dealt with pretty quickly. Two units of berserkers came in via drop pod and killed a little, but then got deleted quickly. My DP killed smash captain but was promptly mulched by a 6 man aggressor squad. It was awful, I don't think I've ever lost so hard.

Mind you this was after a game reset, because he went first and killed most of what I had on the board T1 via teleport shenanigans and move strats. So we reset and I went first. He still won. The army is VERY good.

eliminators do care about cover, sure they can hit you in cover but they don't hit nearly as hard.

but yeah a RG list is going to be primed to remove HQs.

Vanguard marines, scouts, jump pack vanguard vets, eliminators, but even aggressors are good.
