Hi guys, i've been really interested in WH40k for quite a long time so i finally decided to start on the hobby.

To begin with, i bought that "Start collecting! Space Marines" and i have some questions:

- Can i paint the miniatures with any other loyalist chapter color scheme or would that be inappropriate due to any unique piece that the miniatures have that could be only identified as an Ultramarine?

- The content of this box (12 miniatures including a dreadnought) is enough to start playing against other people?

I also accept any suggestions of what i should continue buying to increment the "army" that comes within the box.

Thanks for any answers, and don't forget: THE EMPEROR PROTECTS!

Welcome!

Any loyalist chapter colours you like! You could even make up your own chapter if that's what you want to do!

I hope other players would be willing to choose part of their force to play a short skirmish game with you. There's no reason why a small force like yours can't be part of a fun little game!

As for what next, it really depends on your playing style and the chapter you choose to go for. If you want a fast, mobile force, you might want to look into bikes or a land speeder or assault marines with jump packs. If you want a slower but tougher force, maybe look at Terminators and a Predator.

Thanks for your reply! I was starting to think that nobody visits this part of the forum anymore

Well i changed my mind after reading a lot of stuff and instead of ordering a "Start collecting! Space Marines" i bought a box named "Know no fear" because it looked more like an appropriate start for the 8th edition of the game that we're in.

I like the IF and BT, but looks like BT are "out of the game" since a long time, huh? So yeah, i'm kinda confused right now

Know No Fear is good value. And once put together you can have a game too.

Sorry, I don't know who you mean by IF and BT?

Is that Imperial Fists and Black Templars? They're still very much around! Black Templars in particular have some nice models. Imperial Fists are part of Codex Space Marines - all standard Space Marines models can easily be made into Imperial Fists.

Oh, yeah Imperial Fists and Black Templars. I heard that there is a new codex coming for IF but nothing for BT.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
