Been seeing recommendations on my Youtube channel for videos like the one's below, where people dress up in Space Marine outfits. People do the same with Star Wars Imperial Stormtrooper outfits also.

I'm wondering though, just how is the Space Marine armour made? They don't look vacformed like Stormtrooper outfits tend to be or used to be. Are they some sort of hard EVA Foam (I know EVA foam is used widely by cosplayers)?

I'm guessing it's not a cheap/inexpensive thing to do either...

Anyone here have any insight?

Could be EVA foam, could be expanding foam carved and sanded, could be worbla (which would be my guess), could be vacformed, could be cardboard with wall filler carved and sanded (I've seen Mandalorian helmets done this way). It's been a while since I've cosplayed so there might be more methods I've forgotten or don't know about.

Edit: cosplay is not cheap, especially if you want to do it well/look accurate.

There was a guy dressed in one at Play Expo Manchester around 2013, his was made of a spongy foam if I remember correctly.

What impresses me the most is the amount of work that goes into these things. My wife is a very experienced craftsman when it comes to these sort of things, and I've seen how long she spends making stuff. Those guys put hundreds of hours into making their outfits.

I see your space marines and play a nice looking Sister of Battle.

Is the first one a deadpool marine? They call him baby arm because it is growing back.
