I started painting my Kroot army over three years ago, utilizing a simple but effective drybrushing technique.  I was planning on using some more advanced painting methods on my next army, but I have no desire to stop with the Kroot.  So, instead I am going to strip my units one-by-one and repaint them.  Here is the first model, a kroothound:

The total work time on this model was about five hours, but as it was the first one I expect the rest to be quicker.  Let me know what you think.

That's pretty cool!  Seems like it'd look GREAT on the tabletop.

Good luck on getting the rest done quickly!

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

Looking good. The new paintjob does make it look leaner and meaner. I liked the warpaint on the snout of the old one though, but that's a small detail. Very cool.

The blue warpaint is still there, it's just on the other side of the face now.  You can see the new style of warpaint on his right hind leg.  It's basically just like the old warpaint except now I added a base of black that leaves a border and the paint brush is much thinner to allow for some more exquisite runes and markings.  BTW, this isn't the same model, just another hound in a similar pose, carrying some leftovers from Cadia to his master.
