As noted on other threads, been away for 25 years. Bought Dark Imperium...but im going to have friendly games Imp Guard v Eldar initially. IG army and Eldar ordered. Codex's for both ordered. I will have a squad or two Astartes from the DI box allied with the IG.

so, I have been watching a series of Battle Reps from 'winters' I think it s(brilliant) and they have like order cards and they also have objective markers on the table.

Is it the 'DataCards' I need to buy for this and do I need IG and eldar Datacards? Also where are the Objective markers from?

Anything else anyone recommends I get?

Will take a while to paint them..but getting everything bought so I can get gaming asap.

Thanks for any help.

Most of that stuff is optional. Datacards aren’t necessary and you could use coins or make your own objective markers. Make sure those batreps are for 8th edition.

If the truth can destroy it, then it deserves to be destroyed.

For the first games, skip the datacards. Play the games that have set objectives, and use objects to mark them.
Make your own objective markers. Use spares off the sprues, and maybe work towards a set of 6 for each army you have.

Later on, the card packs are very useful.
The Tactical Objectives cards are nice to have, and help keep track of the mission. The card packs usually have the psychic powers for that army, and you can set them aside once you have chosen them.
For IG, the orders are handy too, as I keep forgetting which can be used for what.

The 'Open War' pack is very nice, once you get bored with the missions in the books. Random games, from deployment to mission objective, and Sudden Death cards for when the armies have uneven points or PL.
