Hey, I want to start a new project in both gaming and painting of a Destruction army with Gordrakk as a centrepiece.

What inspired me to follow this is the need of a centrepiece model for my Destruction army in aos, plus a rule in Gordrakk's command ability that lets it be used on Destruction units, not just Orruks.

Sadly, Gordrakk cannot be my general as if i do im just tossing out a free warlord trait and artefact that I could give to an un-named character.

What I thought would be a interesting choice would be the Fungoid cave shaman. I say this as he can benefit from Look out sir, generates command points, ignores any dmg on a 4+ and can sit back casting and speeding up other units with the Rampaging Destroyer's ability that is exclusive to destruction army's. Looking for suggestion's about other possibility's.

Also, the Destruction artefacts listed in the core book. What stands out for me is the Collar of Domination, if I could force a monster to retreat that would line it up for another charge from Gordrakk, which in turn would let him use his massively destructive bulk ability 2 turns in a row. What I need though is a hero to carry it, that is durable in combat and can keep up with Gordrakk. Please let me know what you think about this and if it can work.

Any other advice on this kind of army, feel free to give.

What units did you have in mind?

So far, you could quite literally gain far more from an ironjawz allegiance with gloomspite allies based on what you’ve said so far.

Losing sub factions and allegiance abilities to gain the generic destruction one and more unit options really isn’t a good idea in terms of a competitive list.
If that’s what your aiming for then you could quite literally keep your abilities and traits as ironjawz and ally in what you need.

Problem is I have Troggs, 9 Rockgut and 6 Fellwater, If i was to take a Ironjawz army then no way am I going to be able to fit them in. Which sucks because I love the models and have them painted well.

I cant seem to find a way I could include Gordrakk unless it is a destruction list, as his points are beyond ally limit (around 550).

Also side note I hate the way the Bad Moon works for Gitz, its clunky and awkward to play around to try and follow it from one side to the other.

For mass trolls that’s fine then.
For 6 or so you could ally them in.

The moon mechanics are a pain, but you learn to not rely on them unless you build an army around them.
Taking the loonking makes it far more stable to use, but it’s another points tax.

The main loss is the allegiance abilities for ironjawz or the big waaagh.
Both have some great stuff that aids mobility and severely increases damage output for the army.

Would be good to ally in but I’m missing the 2000 other points of Orruks, for now at least


Within the destruction artifacts, warlords traits and allegiance ability, which do you see has some potential to be at least semi decent?
