Greetings Fellow Designers,

I have a few game designs kicking around that I would like to pitch to a few companies. I know my usual sources are not open to the concepts (as they all ready turned them down) and I am looking for other potential publishers to take at look at them.

I also would like to avoid self-publishing these at the moment and would like to expand my resume/producers list.

However, I am having a bit of a challenge finding a good resource with current publishers I can connect with. Can someone point a few resources out to me?

Thanks for your help!

I have no idea as to resources but it might help to outline at least what type of game you mean.

Board, wargame, miniatures, cardstock, computer, console, mobilephone.

It might also help to note any reasons why they might have been rejected and such, which might help anyone who can advise where you might ask. Noting any favourable points as well can equally guide any potential advice.

Oh yeah.

traditional Miniature Wargames specifically.

Not board games, Hex and Grid wargames, or electronic wargames.

I know a few years ago, TooFatLardies had a post or announcement about looking to support small-time game manufacturers. Also Osprey has a pretty solid "submit your game within our parameters and we'll consider it" function going on now. Those are the only two off the top of my head.

I stick with self-publishing right now, because I'm a one-man hobbyist doing this...and can't justify much more.

PS: If you're just doing a book, it'd be hard to argue not self-publishing it as a simple PDF and a print-on-demand book, or getting a simple run of prints done and selling them via Amazon, etc.

Osprey has been good to me as they have picked up three of my pitches. This time, I pitched one book and they decided not to move forward on the genre, and the other they all ready have the genre in their collection. Therefore, I want to shop them around a bit.

TooFatLardies didn't have any submission sections I could find on their website. Does anyone else see one?

I guess self-publishing might be the best way forward (again), but I wanted to go a different route this time and expand my publication base.

hi, im wondering does Osprey just take ur idea and develop it or do you deliver the end product to them and they market and sell it? do they help with funding?

You deliver a pitch with the broad outlines of the game. They then like to see some draft where 70% or more is written to determine what it will look like in print. Then you deliver an end product and they will help edit it and then market and sell it. You are doing all the hard work.

Typically, I do not bother pitching to them unless I have a rule system ready to put up as a PDF minus photos/pictures.

Edit: If you need help on a pitch, PM me and I can work with you on it.

The various wargame magazines will frequently buy short wargames and publish them for a decent price per word count.
