I just recently got into tabletop war gaming. I’ve been a Magic the Gathering player since the early 90’s. Got turned onto the hobby when I stumbled into a Warhammer shop. Space Marines were the first thing I saw so I bought some. Mostly started buying and painting whatever I thought looked cool without worrying about points or rules. MacPhail got me thinking about actual armies and got me turned on to this site. I’m looking for right now to beef up my space marines to be an actual army. Turns out it’s kind of an expensive thing to do.

I also even more recently discovered a talent and enjoyment for making foam terrain. That’s a bit cheaper. Does anyone here not make their own? I’m trying to assess the possibility of selling terrain to sponsor my army. Any thoughts?

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

Welcome! and that sounds like a good idea. In fact that's how I used to buy some of my pieces... I'd check on eBay and look for some folks who had some foam pieces they made or just don't want. I know more folks who work on models/armies but not terrain pieces as much. Definitely sounds like it might work.
