My critque is that the staff shaft looks dark and under-highlighted. The big shield on the bigger guy could do with some freehand just to show off your paint skills.

Thank you for you honest critique, I honestly really apprechiate that.

The issue with the black gunmetal on the spear is mostly the picture. I've edge highlighted it with eshin grey and administrarum grey in the higher edges. Due to my lacking photography skills this does not show. Also the curly ornaments on the guardian spear look slightly silvery on the picture, while they are gold in real life.

Regarding the shield on the galatus: yeah, I am planning on doing a freehand, but since I've worked quite a long time on the shield and die colour transitions on it, I wanted to practice free hands on other things and models first because I'm not that good at freehanding.

So here is my second custodian guard with spear:

Really like how this one turned out, I'm especially proud of the spear blade, since I feel the blends came out quite nicely.

Also this is probably my favourite pose of all the custodian guards I've built.

Fantastic work. I'm really enjoying the blending. Everything is nice and crisp.

Have you tried putting a darker background when taking pictures? It may help the colours on the mini stand out more.
