Terrain WIPs: I’ve been saving plastic trash for the past few months...

I envision terrain suitable for 40k, Necromunda or if I find the right group of people, Inq28. Fingers crossed.

I made this hill using insulation foam and MDF. Classic terrain technology from 1999 There’ll definitely be an objective or point of interest on the plateau during games.

The first couple of pieces were made from push-up ice cream packaging, parts from a glue stick and the caps from my daughters applesauce packet. Could they be turbines of some sort? Breeding tanks for some heretical Magus Biologis? The thing that inspired this project are the grey pieces I used for the bases. I found them in an empty lot near my apartment.

Here is the first real terrain piece for 40k settings. I glued caps from milk cartons, juice cartons and soda pop to make futuristic barrels for farseers to hide behind. A few railings made from sprue and an offcut piece of MDF.

Thanks for looking! We are at home doing lots of crafts for the time being so I should be posting more this coming week.

Been working on a Ruin for a few months off and on. I bought it as bits from a flea market and wanted to make a legit terrain feature out of it. Please Tell me what you think about the red stones. I was going for red brick but am leaning towards maybe doing more subtle earth tones.

There will be a bit of static grass, mossy areas and talus scree around the foundation but the base itself will just be painted. Does anyone know if the MDF will warp if I paint it with acrylics? Thanks for looking, I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their day!

The ruins look really neat! And i like the home made stuff a lot. Barrels are always good to have around.

realism is a lie

It is a lot of fun to document my hobby progress this way! I hope that everyone is doing well and looking positively towards the summertime!

Looking at other threads has inspired my own Ordos Xenos Inquisitor Band. I have a bodyguard for a wealthy Rogue Trader Clan and an Eldar pirate ally.

I have some sci-fi terrain on the workable this week. Is card terrain still a thing? This hovel needs plasticard and lots of 40k bits.

This experiment with plastic waste is time consuming with all of the digging through the different types. Combined with the card fortification I am satisfied with the results, however.

The ruins of an older culture. Obelisks made from Shampoo bottles.

I have a bunch of this honeycomb packing material. Today I found that I could create antiklastisch forms by removing the outer paper sheets. Very excited with the result.

Obviously there is a load of spackling to be done on the statues plinth.

I will continue posting here as it really helps me to progress with multiple projects at once. I hope to bust out the rest of my Inquisitor guys and paint them this week. Thanks for reading!

Taking a break from terrain for a moment.

Back in 2016 I bought a bitzbox from eBay and started building figures out of the spare parts I found in it. I am keen on building as many completely customized guys as possible for use in some sort of game system. I’ve let my imagination run wild with these projects without considering what I will use them for.

The wealthy and influential Rogue Traders of House Theseus have myriad allies and bounty hunters at their disposal. Many are chosen for their expertise, others because they possess skills and experience that set them apart from other imperial servants. The enigmatic triggerman known only as The Wind in the Murk has served House Theseus for 8 standard years and has proven to be a ruthless opponent, specializing in sabotage and contract killing

His identity and origins are unknown to the crew of the Yuval Harari as is the case with many henchmen hired outside of imperial space. House Theseus possesses the capital and influence to employ outlaws like The Wind in the Murk that would otherwise be terminated by the Astra Militarum or members of the Inquisition.

Questions and comments are welcome, go easy on me as I have not painted in almost a year.. Thanks for looking!
