I just caught the first episode of this for the first time after watching reruns as a snotling long ago, and I have to say that the pilot holds up pretty well even today, if you forgive the "blowing the moon out of orbit into deep space at impossible speeds" bit.

While the rest of the series was of very uneven quality and had a lot of ridiculous premises, I think the pilot ep is still pretty decent.

There were some rumors of a remake called space:2099 but nothing happened. I think if they did it right, it might be good. One idea I heard was the moon was a colony that separated from earth in a near civil war and there's not a state of hostility between a global dictatorship earth and a semi free lunar colony. It would be similar to "the moon is a harsh mistress".

I remember Space:1999 from reruns on the Sci-Fi channel. Season one and season two almost felt like different shows entirely, due to all the changes they made between the seasons. I do remember liking it, though. Maybe I should try and track down a DVD copy or two...

Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)

I used to love this show and I don't dare re-watch it. I learned my lesson after re-watching Voltron: you can't go home again.

Eh, give it a shot. The pilot is still pretty good and some eps of the first season are still ok.
