i do have a deathskulls ork army nearing completion but do i opt for a painboy or Mad Dok Grotsnik?
The painboy looks a better model (unless there is some other alternatives you can suggest for Mad Dok?) but im just trying to figure out who is better point wise.
painboy is only 65 points vs 86 (yesh its only 20 but thats nearly some grots!) is he worth it?

If you’ve got the points spare I would say Grotsnik is a bit better (particularly if you’ve got non-Deathskulls models in your army) as he’s much more difficult to kill and is better in melee. There isn’t much in it though, the Painboy does the FNP aura for cheaper and has an Orderly but is more vulnerable to units of snipers (less vulnerable to Vindicare Assassins though) and easier to kill otherwise. Mad Doc is beefier and much more scary in combat.

The pain boy aura itself is nothing to write home about, and the pain boy has to pay for a PK that he can't use well.
Mad Dok Grotznik is basically a warboss on top of being a pain boy, meaning he can join the fray and hit hard when he needs to. When playing deffskulls, you should either run Grotznik or no painboy at all.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

Problem of Grostnik os double fold. First, the model is suuuuper old. I believe it officially still goes on a 25mm. Second, it is an elite choice. If it was an HQ we would see him far more often.

It has aged well though. The metal model still looks good next to regular nobz or MANz.

Yeah...but no. I disagree. Rebasing it may help though

Mad Dok is way better. His aura also ISN'T <CLAN> locked, so he helps all your clan detachments.
He's so much better for 21 more points.
