I’m planning to move to Aiken, South Carolina in a few months.
I’ve been up there to visit and tabletop gaming doesn’t really seem to be a thing.
Is there anyone on Dakka from that area?
Is there a gaming scene nearby?
Not sure that you will be in luck in Aiken. I have never been that part of the state. You best bet is across the boarder in Augusta. For a longer trip, Columbia may work as well, but it looks to at least an hour away.
There are several 40K gaming options in Columbia SC including a GW store. The Irmo/ Lexington area has two stores just off of the I-26 Highway close to the I-20 exchange. The stores are Firefly Games and That Computer Store. Check them out on Facebook.
The 40K scene is pretty large with regular tournaments and occasional leagues. AoS and other GW games are also played. You might even see Battlefleet Gothic or Titanicus.
