Hi all, I've just noticed that I've used a bent spear (resin) on my chapter masters bike, this would be no problem if I haven't essential finished painting it except the spear. Is it okay to blast him with a hairdryer in order to straighten the spear or would it ruin my paint job, I don't want to mess it up as I've done some really cool freehand, thank you.

Why not dip just the spear in hot water?

Hair dryer should work but I've never tried it before. I would possibly be concerned that it would make the model too hot and cause some sort of issue.

Water is nice because you can test it with your finger, and the resin will never get any hotter than the water. Hot water will not damage paint work either. I find just a running hot tap to work fine, quick and easy.
