Hi folks,

Primaris Space Marines is one of the most common factions in our studio. Every month there are several projects involving the Angels of Death of the Emperor but this one has been special. This Imperial Fists army is mainly composed by Primaris Marines but there are also several Tactical units. Why it is so special then you will be probably wondering? Most of the characters and figures belong to the exclusive Space Marine Heroes series released by Games Workshop!

These models provide to each unit and to the whole army a lot of variety. Besides our customer decided to choose an advanced painting starndard (Colonel level 4/5) which allowed us to apply many different battle damage and dust effects. We have also focused on the faces and minor details to create soft and progressive transitions. Finally, he wanted an urban battlefield with cracked rocks to show how resilient and tough the VII Legion is.

Hope you like the army and any comment is always welcome!

Amazing
indeed.

Awesome. Astounding. Unbelievable.

The faces on your marine are especially exceptional.
Dude...you make we want to put my minis in a drawer in shame.

Outstanding work, mate.

The paint job is great, but a lot of the decals seem to be lifting off the pauldrons. I'd recommend a couple of coats of micro sol over them to flatten them back down. Battle damage looks great, and I really like the way you've brought out the aquila on the banner.

Outstanding. So much character in those faces.
To add to what JamesY suggests. A thin coat of gloss varnish. Let that dry. Apply the transfer using micro sol. Let that do its work. Another thin coat of gloss varnish followed by a Matt coat. This gives the 'painted on' look.
The first layer of gloss varnish smooths out the surface of the paint to prevent that misted look of micro pockets of air trapped between the paint surface and the transfer.
I found with the IF transfers. If you make a small vertical cut at either side of the fist while the transfer is still on its backing it helps the transfer fold in on itself slightly when trying to deform to the curved surface.
