As far as I remember 7th ed. Warriors was all about Infernal Gateway and Chosen.

Level 4 of Tzeentch to spam Infernal Gateway as much as possible.

If I remember correctly, it was something like 18-24 Chosen with Halberds, Mark of Tzeentch and the 5 point item Favour of the Gods (or something like that) on the unit Champion. Banner of Rage (yes this was unfortunately allowed) and you put Festus in the unit.

Then you run a Chaos Warshrine of Tzeentch with it to buff the Chosen unit further.

So, the unit gets a pre-game roll on the eye of the gods which you can adjust +/- 1 because of the Favour of the Gods item. You are looking for the 4+ ward save roll which will buff to 3+ with the mark of Tzeentch. The Banner of Rage gives them and extra attack because of frenzy. Festus gives them 5+ regeneration and poisoned attacks. All the while you are buffing your unit further with the Chaos Warshrine. So you have a giant, almost unkillable unit here. WS 6, 3 attacks, strength 5, 4+/3++/5+++ armour and poisoned attacks. This unit was insane, and it only got worse the more buffs you stacked onto them.

Add some Warhounds for blocking/re-directing. Some Knights and Chariots for counter-charging and you're gold.

Square Bases for Life!
AoS is pure garbage
Kill Primaris, Kill the Primarchs. They don't belong in 40K
40K is fantasy in space, not sci-fi

Most of us don't have lists for 7th anymore, but play 6th or 8th. I couldn't really remember frankly and I didn't play Chaos then. 1d4chan tactics are generally sound, take what you want but cross reference.

From what I remember from my brief time in 7th (had to go back to 6th), it is exactly what Brutus_Apex said if you want to play "competitive/tournament" style.

Chosen with the trick to get then invulnerable save and load of tzeentch sorcery. Deathstar with Chosen+characters (800 p+) for ultimate point denial and auto-delete anything thrown at them. For a 1500 points list, a medium-big unit of Chosen+Festus is quite disgusting but could be expected.
Support units like doggos, chariots, shrine... and knights were quite terrifying (like the Chosen version of 6th but not 0-1 and with fear+magic attacks for 5 points less. yay balance).

Thing is other 7th armies also had similar shenanigans.
