So this is the thread for all those, like myself, who have pangs of guilt when staring at the new Necron/Marine (or both) content of the new upcoming boxed set.

Guilt because of those models screaming out to start a new army or restart a much abandoned earlier army. All under the guise of also picking up a new rulebook.

For me the guilt is because I've just restarted my Tyranids and started to get some headway with them and yet now I can see cool 4 legged Necron walkers; brutal three legged ones and redesigned warriors that don't require me to convert every single one to remove the glowstick rod. Do I abandon my Tyranids - do I add a bunch of Necron sprue to my un-built pile knowing that it might be ages (heck even 10thed) before I get to them. Do I sooth myself saying that I can sell the marine content to buy more Tyranids (even though the greater temptation would be to swap them for double the Necron fun).

Should I just manage to isolate myself from the internet for a three month period so that I can miss all the temptations and news. Gah! The choices!

I'm sure I can't be alone with this temptation and torment, come share your torments with 9th edition and the temptations or perhaps how you've justified the choice you've made

The Marine Standing Behind Marneus Calgar

Upstate, New York

I just told my FLGS to put me down for 2 boxes. Due to the quarentine, I missed out celebrating The Boy’s birthday, and he just graduated from middle school, which while not a HS/college level graduation, is not nothing. So one for each of us.

The FLGS I ordered from doesn’t offer discounts. We just got an offical GW store 45 minutes away, and the friendly (not so) local game store that I’d prefer to support is over an hour drive away. So if I need to do a quick run for paint, it’s to the close place, and I’d like them to keep their doors open. So I’m sucking up the cost of full retail as a "charitable donation” to help them out. Even though it hurts when picking up big ticket items. I’ve kept my job working from home, and have the government money as a bonus I’ll willing to pass on to stores (which I’ve done some of in the last few months)

Now for the marine side and the books, it’s still a good deal. Those boxes are PACKED with awesome. But I feel bad that all those necrons are just going to go straight into the pile of shame, to rest until the end of days. There is already a lot of stuff I feel guilty just collecting dust there. Minis want to see the table. They deserve paint and battle. But I don’t want to figure out e-bay, shipping costs, etc. The one time I entertained selling some old stuff, I got an insultingly low-ball offer that really soured the concept of offloading stuff.

I’m trying to resist all the other extras. The bunker, gun emplacement, and ATV are easy passes. But the bike chaplain and the techmarine are very tempting. But they are going to be pricy.

No issues for me since I'm already a Necron player.

My brother, who I will be splitting the contents with and for whom Space Marines would be his fourth project since getting into the hobby a couple years ago, on the other hand...

No guilt here.
I need the book anyways. And as I like the look of every model in this set I'll make use of all it.

I own multiple armies & rotate between playing them. The Primaris just become additional Marine options. The shiny new Necrons provide the excuse to pull that army out of storage & add it to the rotation.

At some point, I plan to pick up the new Necron models. The 5E Necron revamp was the reason I came back to the hobby, so the new models will become part of my collection at some point.

Would also like the new Admech cavalry models to expand my Admech force.

For my marine army, the only thing that grabs my attention is the Hammerfall bunker, though I'm contemplating scratchbuilding a couple rather than buy one.

As far as 9E rules go though, not interested. If I play, it will be 8E or my homebrew, more likely the latter.

I've asked my FLGS to put me down for a box. This year I've been jumping regularly between working on my different projects - some Eldar here, some Sororitas there, a bit of Adeptus Titanicus, and this box will add more to the mix. I've never had any Necrons before, but they look cool. I've got the Primaris from Dark Imperium and Wake the Dead, all still on sprue, and I've been meaning to get around to them eventually.

Will I work on anything from Indomitus soon after getting it? Probably not. It'll sit in the pile for some time. After all, I bought Dark Imperium on launch and the rulebook is literally the only thing that I ever got around to taking out of the box. But unlike a lot of big boxes I don't feel much guilt over getting it - the price is very good indeed for the number of models you're getting, I like just about all of it (this is the box that has actually made me like Primaris...) and I need the rulebook anyway.

So Indomitus might actually make me start work on the Dark Imperium models...

Deathwatch player. I was concerned that the new marines would just sit in the pile of shame like the last new marines in Shadowspear, waiting for rules that never come or me to start another marine army. I was pretty psyched to see that DW will get to use all those new units.

I just started painting a rather large sororitas army, and the primaris siren call threatens me again.

I am afraid of putting pause in my sororitas project to paint the indomitus primaris and then starting to add yet more primaris into the mix. (Well now I need an impulsor for these bladeguards, and this list could use an invictor yadda yadda). I only play with painted lists and I hoped to get a game with the sororitas this year

I'm getting it, but I don't know what I'm going to do with the marines yet. Add to my crimson fists? Give in and start adding primaris to my dark angels? Start a custom chapter?

I'm really not a big fan of the Primaris design, and to date I have not purchased a single model that sells under the Primaris title.

However, I do plan on making an exception for the Indomitus boxed set because it seems too good of an offer to slouch on before its all sold out.

They claim to have "boat loads" of them ready to roll out, but I know that if I wait around too long I'll just end up overpaying for them through eBay.

I have so many models in the que right now though.
I'll be pre-ordering on the 11th when the option becomes available, and I'll be shelving the box for at least a few months before I crack it open.

"Pile of Shame" they say.
Hah. I feel only a little guilt in stockpiling my miniatures.

I have a barely started space wolves project, so the prospect of mélée Primars is striking a cord. But in the same time, they scream black templars so hard...

I wanted to split the necrons but after no finding necron player I have decided to keep them. Alongside the forgebane half they are a small force that I can use and... who I'm kidding, they are gonna sit on the shelf.

But TBH I don't even know if I'm gonna get a box. I'll wait for the 11th at 10am, and see if I can preorder one before they fly of the "web" shelves, like with the sister box.

There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I am going half with a friend who plays Necrons. Haven't touched loyal Marines since uhh... 1997? Once I found Chaos I've played Chaos ever since. But I like Primaris and even if there's a lot of Marine players floating around I'm trying to separate the game mechanics from the lore so I stop gimping myself by picking armies that are below the power curve without resorting to cheesy gimmicks.

10 spanish would be 9 am in UK time, no? And 11 am spanish would be 10 am that is when preorders usually show up.
