after many years I decided to get back to wargaming. 40K Orks here we come.
As I am getting familiar with new rules and units, more and more questions pop up without many answers.

I am struggling between picking Evil Sunz and deathskulls, in little favour for our red speed enthusiasts.
I want to buy equivalent of 2-3 Kustom Busta Blastas a month (purchasing power may differ so it is a good reference).
So far I got: 32 old monolith boyz, 2 oldschool trukks, 4 warbikes and Start collecting orks. Next buy will be another start collecting and I will exchange painboy for psyker.
First my goal is to reach 1500 pts without spending $$$ on things I wont use (another pricey hobby).
After reading some articles I came up with this Evil sunz army:

Some input
- Da Krunch might sound fun, but fails to impress quite often. Both evil suns and death skulls have great klan powers, pick one of them instead.
- Nobz aren't that great, you might want to consider replacing them with trukk boyz.
- keep in mind that overwatch costs CP now. When running evil suns, you are better off just giving your dreads a full melee load-out and tellyporting them in, when running deff skulls given them 1-3 KMBs to make use of the re-rolls.

With 2 hq and 3 troops you can go Battalion and not have to pay cp since your warlord is in the detachment. Maybe use 1cp to give the scrapjets a kustom job?

I don't know if 3 warbikers will live very long but hopefully they work for you.

I've been running green tide evil sunz with pretty good success but I really want to break out my deff dreads now. 3 in deep strike with tellyporta can catch people off guard. It may be worth putting 1 skorcha on each dread to give them a bit more anti tarpit help, if you can find the points.

Agree, there is no reason to not just make your army a battalion and the korkscrew is a good kustom job as well.
You should also upgrade your weird boy to a warphead and give him da jump or warpath.

I agree on the warbikers, if you have the models, koptas would probably do the same job better.

Deff dreads don't need a skorcha against tarpitting, there is a 1CP stratagem in SotB that allows a dead to attack again each time it kills a model, which can easily turn into 3-4 additional attacks which have way better strength, AP and damage than the skorcha hits.

I came up with this by cutting points from my wish 2k army list where this detachment has a reason (more fa).
