There is very little info on the monolith other than it can duplicate Star ships, is probably old Necron technology, and is apart of the Pharos network. The Necron used these monoliths to connect across space for travel, similar to the webway in the warp. Now I am not sure if they all have the same capabilities but I had a theory on the Ymga monolith. What if the monoliths didn’t transport ships, but instead copied them to another location and destroyed the original(similar concept to a transporter in Star Trek I think)? But the process was only successful on inorganic objects. That is why the necrons utilized it, as they are essentially metal. Perhaps the Ymga monolith is malfunctioning, and instead of transporting and destroying ships, it simply duplicates them. Maybe this was done intentionally even? Would appreciate any feedback or other theories.

Any theory that the the teleporters do not teleport but restroy and re-build do not think about the big elephant in the room.

If you are making new copies, that is not depended on the destruction of the old one. We see startrek plays with this the episode there are two rikers. Stargate atlantis does something similar on the prison ships of the locus. So if they have the tecnology they can just print people, or objects.

One good example of a TV series that just takes the tecnological consept and runs with it is Dollhouse. I Dolhouse a chair can rewrite another person upon your brain. In the future they invent a raido signal that does the same. So in the future any radio or broadcast signal can overwrite you.

If the Monolith network you talk about can print things, just copy the most powerfull thing until you run out of ink and paper.
