With the Imperial Fist nerf their super doctrine is the weakest and now largely irrelevant. Their high volume of fire and low damage shots play style really isn’t viable any longer. Honestly, I never liked their trait to start with. I am recommending th following change. This change would allow IF armies to maintain their unique play style of mass bolter fire. It is less powerful than previously, but opens up list building options.

In the tactical doctrine Imperial Fist bolter weapons gain +1 to wound against buildings, vehicles, and monsters.

Exactly the point. This proposed rule gives flavor and is useful, but in no way overpowered. I think the days of super powerful and broken SM rule are over. This is nice buff and is balanced and better than what we currently have. .

Well before it could have been considered too good. Making Imp Fists more versatile than Ultramarines. You take a bunch of heavy bolters and you get extra shots for killing infantry and extra damage for killing tanks. Throw in modifiers to hit and wound and all the stratagem to get even more extra hits for rolling high and the fists feel a bit too good. I know I got my ass handed to me by a mate every time he brought out the boys in yellow.
