I use a lot of CAD software for my work, and as I'm delving into Blender for the first time mostly just to create armatures for my .stl file downloads and repose them (I'll redesign my own dang aspect warriors GW, see if I won't!) and I'd like to know from folks used to the program: What are the magic little tricks that make life much easier and make you slap your forehead when you realize WHAT THERES JUST A BUTTON FOR THAT?
Examples from other programs I use include: AutoCAD - the button to re-select your last selection. Solidworks - the view rotation hotkeys and the 'export to dxf ' and 'copy with mates' features.
From my doodling around at 11pm last night my most pressing question is how to achieve a clean rotation, like with a character's wrist or neck? Bending appears pretty straightforward with an armature, but trying to turn my little puppetman's head resulted in some weird jaggies around his neck where the polygons got really stretched out.
