ANy one play this or try this skirmish game Gangs of Rome?

I could get some minis in trade, but want to hear straight from the experienced how they feel about this little system.

Thanks,

I just bought the PDF, so will have to flick through the rules and get back to you.

I did watch some videos of the game, and it felt a bit token heavy, and the randomized stats felt a bit weird to me. I am not sure I completely understand the premise or the game play yet though.

That said, the IDEA behind it is great. Therefore even if the rules suck, I feel like I could easily make use of the models in something of my own. Your mileage will probably vary.

I ended up selling my stuff because the community around me died, but it's definitely an fun system.

Original premise was an interesting one. Randomized fighters and equipment in each pack. I think they've moved away from that for more standardized warbands.

Game is fairly straightforward, spice is added from the denarii and equipment. Some of it is armor, weapons, other equipment, or even extra gang members like a gladiator or attack dog.

It's definitely a game that benefits from a lot of terrain - like a lot a lot, try to make it as dense as possible - and you definitely need the mob markers. They add a lot - you can jump into them to escape pursuers, or you can send them to attack enemies, or they may turn on you and tear your fighter apart.

Sounds fun overall. My group digs skirmish of any type so perhaps I'll work out a deal. Thanks you both.
