I'm eying up that Imperial Guard army I've always wanted, I'm thinking of doing a sort of WW2 British themed armoured force.
As such I've written up the following three lists following a sort of escalation type theme as I get the ball rolling. What do people think?
Note: Being Escalation, keeping units approximately the same is desirable, but I plan to magnetise a lot so specific wargear isn't a big deal.
Regimental Doctrines - Gunnery Experts, Spotter Details.

So there's an obvious armoured theme.
I've never played a game of 9th yet, I've heard it's all about tough infantry keeping objectives. I feel like Imperial Guard are going to really suffer if that's the case? I don't think this infantry will last very long.

I feel like by the time I got to 1000 I'd like more infantry squads, probably five or six for better board control / screen.

With this list I'd be tempted to see what losing the track guards gets me (I really haven't gotten a lot of benefit out of them before, YMMV). I hate how much Chimeras cost now, but I can see the value of having one or two. Honesty I'd run it and see how it goes. If you are able to keep your objectives with the troops you have, good to go. If you find you're running out of bodies, there's a few places like missiles and track guards you may be able to find the points if you need it.

Would be interested to hear how it plays.
