I've spent a lot to think for this. Browsing through tactica's and net lists, but I'm keen to hold on my own approach and experience. In my iterations I've had blade vets, multi-melta drop pod, even DC for forlorn.. but I like the lib dread & 2x redemptor combo to take the center. Now after the supplement quake bolts goes from blade vets to new unit van vets which in two test games play the mission better even that they die a bit easier and make less damage in combat. What I could do is to swap those infiltrators to 3rd incursor squad, but I play a lot against death guard, so if I can dictate even a bit where those blightlord termies come I'll take it. Auto-includes for me are the priest, incursors, sanguinary guard and plasma inceptors. Other units can be swapped for sure. For example two games in with that captain and still not convinced on the combi-melta, but it's just 5p so why not. Also the meltagun on the librarian dreadnought is just because spare points.

Blood Angels batallion

Captain with jump pack + relic blade + combi-melta
* hero of the chapter: Rites of War
* Relic: Visage of Death

Sanguinary priest with jump pack (warlord)
* Chief apothecary: Selfless healer
*Relic: Icon of the Angel

Librarian dreadnought - meltagun
* Quickening, wings of sanguinius
Relic: Tome of Malcador
* extra power: Psychic fortress

5x incursors
5x incursors
5x infiltrators

Redemptor dreadnought - macro plasma incinerator - onslaught gatling cannon
Redemptor dreadnought - macro plasma incinerator - onslaught gatling cannon
8x sanguinary guard - encarmine swords - angelus boltguns
8x van vets - relic blade & bolt pistol - 4x lightning claw & storm shield - 3x power fist & storm shield
* Relic: Quake bolts

5x inceptors - plasma exterminators

4x eradicators

So all positives and critiques most welcome. One opinion would be nice to hear: Should I just swap the eradicators and 2x inceptors (260) to a 9man death company unit with 3x thunder hammers (261)? Eradicators are an easy tool to have some decent anti-tank threat from the reserves, but... Thoughts?

Tome of malcador may not let you take from a different lot of psychic powers. The ymdc thread was split on it as RAW the librarian can only pick its powers from one disipline so I would double check with a to before running it at an event.

I'm not sure how infiltrators help this build - what are you trying to protect your a cc list let them come

The problem with this build is a large section of your points is in shooting and other chapters may do that better

Generally you want more focused units e.g your vanguard are a weird mix of weapons. More focused units may be more effective

If your going thunderhammers I would use assault termies rather than DC for the +1 to hit strat

Thanks for reply..

Well we play the Tome like that.
**EDIT:
Mephy and Lib dread seem to be restricted to Sanguinary discipline in the supplement so I would need to swap the psychic fortress into shield of sanguinius.

Infiltrators hold the rear or block an obj. from DS steal. Might play with 3rd incursors for sure, just something in the toolbox.

Large section? you mean 520p in redemptors and eradicators? Redemptors are actually good with BA, move 8", 5++ invul and rerolls from the lib dread and they hit like a truck. Eradicator is just something in the toolbox, but like I suggest, could drop for DC squad.

I don't think you mean inceptors as in shooting when the +1 to hit strat for 1cp from reserves kicks in (sometimes several times with UWoF). Captain or Lib dread possible candidates for rerolls here.

About van vets.. I count the relic blade as PF so with quake bolts I get 13/17 power fist attacks hitting on 3's and 16/20 LC attacks hitting on 2's, rerolling to wound. T1&2 with priest giving savage echoes (yes we interpret priest to give em savage echoes).

If I drop the eradicators and swap the infiltrators into 3rd incursor unit. Add 1 more inceptor.. Leaves me room for sanguinary ancient. Maybe not enough jump dudes to benefit from the +2" move banner or what do you guys think? Would the DC suggestion in the original post or this sang ancient swap improve the original lists performance?

There are more cost effective to hold the bottom and a good ba list says let them come

Yes redemptors eradicators inceptors its a big portion of your list

Your melee section looks pretty small for ba I would be looking at 1200-1500 (excluding characters)

You might be better finding the points to split your vanguard into two one claws one fists

Consensus on the ancient is its very overcosted for what it does in a ba list generally its inefficient.

Dc it depends if your t1 charging them they could be ok if not vanguard or termies or assault intercessors from reserve will be more efficient

Oh crap, you are right on this. Biomantic sarcophacus was unique in this part. Well more reasons to take a jump pack librarian or the (Mephy mostly for fluff reasons).

Had a long day of gaming with a new variant and I like my new list. I scored between 80-95 every game.

My latest iteration:

captain w/ jp, relic blade, combi-melta, rites of war, visage of death
chief librarian w/ jp, tome of malcador, psychic mastery, wings of sanguinius, veil of time, psychic fortress, nuln zone
chief sanguinary priest w/ jp, selfless healer (warlord), icon of the angel

5x incursors
5x incursors
5x incursors

8x death company w/ jp, 4x fist, 4x chainsword
8x sanguinary guard, all encarmine swords & angelus boltguns
8x vanguard veterans w/ jp, 7x storm shield & lightning claw, relic blade & bolt pistol (quake bolts)
2x company veterans, 2x storm shield & combi-melta
2x company veterans, 2x storm shield & combi-melta

5x inceptors w/ plasma exterminators

5x eradicators

This plays in my meta the game well and let little secondaries to my opponent. Need to test more, but so far this seems far out best for 9th. Might swap some combi-meltas from the company veterans for infiltrator unit, but..

How would you improve?
