Ok, so here's my "I'll play down to everyone elses level so they'll shut up" list. It'll be built after my fantasy army gets built and will be dwarf torso's.... prolly thunderers and cadian arms. Biggest thing here is converting up some heavy weapon teams.... but I think those can be made out of war machine crews. It's 95 squats.... 12 heavy bolters, 8 Lascannons, 4 Melta Guns, 2 Earth Shakers, 3 Power Weapons, and 2 Power Fists. Not the most effective... but I think it's fluffy. I'm thinking of converting up some roughriders as dwarfs on space marine bikes with no guns

Why aren't you using the Slave Levie Abhuman rules? They allow your line squads to move and shoot their heavy weapons (with the Slow and Purposeful USR) and give them Feel No Pain. The doctrine seems tailor made for constructing Squat/Guard armies!

By the way you have Iron Discipline listed in your army list, but you don't have it listed on your doctrines. Assuming you are taking ID, you'd need to lose a doctrine for the two needed for Abhumans & Slave Levies.

mainly because I don't have the WD, so I don't have the rules or the point costs for them. Also.... I'm not so sure squats would have feel no pain.... sure... they're tough.... and besides.... anything under str six isn't going to ignore their armor saves....  and anything str six or over you don't get feel no pain... and I don't know that a feel no pain only for a failed armor save for guard is all that worth it. And the doctrines are hardened fighters, veterans, ID, armor, and close order drill..... however the ID and veterans only apply to certain squads... that's why they weren't listed in the "Everyone has this". Also, this is supposed to be my "everybody play nice" list... and people don't like rerolls

Good for you angron.. so i wont be the only one with this type of army: I made up my basilisk to look like the old Goliath Meg Cannons from epic squats, out of plasticard and some ork wartakk tracks, the space marine attack bike indeed make good rough riders, etc..

here are some shots of my army last year before it was NMMed and final layer of highights were done, for a taste of how they looked:

The Hammer

It's appropriate to chose a race that got wiped out in the "official" fluff to portray a heavily friendly list - if you made your squats too hard people would wonder why they got wiped out. Nice list - you can kind of tell just by reading it how it would look on a table. Since it's a friendly list, you should model a few guys with pickaxes - maybe your hardened veteran sergeants could have a pick in one hand and a PF on the other - and try to convince your opponents to let you take Drop Troops. Considering you're buying Hardened Fighters for so many units, I think a lot of people would allow your "miners" to "tunnel." In gaming terms, Slave Levies is IMHO superior to Carapace, but if the idea is to give your club mates a break from your typical nastiness, Hardened Fighters and Carapace Armour should definitely stop the complaints.

When soldiers think, it's called routing.

Angron:

It takes two doctrines to use Slave Levies. One just to take any Abhuman Doctrines, and one for Slave Levies.

Slave Levies costs the same amount of points per unit as Carapace Armor. It can only be given to basic Infantry Squads (not any kind of Guard Infantry squad).

The unit gains the Feel No Pain and Slow and Purposeful USRs.

Any Slave Levy unit may not take any other doctrines.

So, your basic units (if you made them Slave Levies) can't take Carapce Armor or Hardened Fighters, but will be able to move and shoot their heavy weapons.

The same number of points as Carapace Armor for a unit.
