Yes, I think those do indeed qualify as the tiniest. Lots of fun though!

Experimenting with the oversized "Heroic 20mm" Valiant miniatures as a basis for cheap Imperial Guard/ Colonial Marines/ generic human sci-fi troops. Accessorised with cardboard, greenstuff and granny grating, I think these make for a pretty decent and VERY affordable alternative... check it out:

Regarding KoW, Personally, I have to have minis but I really respect super thrift thinking.

Makes perfect sense from a scale perspective too. Folks have been saying since first edition that KOW is basically a 6/10/15mm element based ruleset that Alessio scaled up to 28mm and tweaked to accommodate GW figure base sizes.

For 20mm, the link isn't working for me. When starting a club a decade ago we considered smaller scales but we each already had some 25/28mm stuff and the used market was able to supply us. with plenty of figs for less than a buck each.

Out of curiosity, why 20mm instead of 15mm? There's a ton for historicals in 20mm but the sci fantasy arena is much better covered in 15 and quite affordably.

Thanks mate - 20mm originally became our jam because we were thinking about converted Airfix cheap and cheerful minis for our own proprietary ruleset, set in an alternate WW2 in the mid 1950s, and then we discovered the joy of Caesar and Dark Dream fantasy minis.. and they do come in cheap!

As ever, little to no money was spent in the completion of this project...

I like the banners! A nice and very clear way to say "these are some dwarves"

Thanks guys! Yeah, the banners are really handy to differentiate units.

@Skamma - great stuff, post some pics here! Hope we're of some help then :-)

@Rocinante - a couple of hours to make, 2-3 painting & basing time overall

Fantastic work and a nice concise view of the KoW system.

Viewing my phone your pics were easy to follow and on the small screen I'd never have known they wen weren't "real" minis.
