Hi all!
A kind redditor in r/modelmakers suggested that we make an account here to tell you a bit about ourselves and introduce our models. We're a new
UK based plastic kit company, and we're starting off our range with a collection of aircraft from the Battle of Britain in 1/144 scale. Those of you who play Flames of War or Team Yankee will be used to this scale for the fixed wing minis - in I fact I have designed many dozens of Flames and TY kits over the years for Battlefront as a freelance designer, and having my own plastic kit company has been a dream for a very long time. My co founder is Bryan Wall, who was the lead designer at Wingnut Wings until that company closed last year. The 1/32 aircraft kits they designed were widely regarded as some of the best plastic kits in the world, so together we have lots of experience that we're bringing to our project!
We're starting out with a Supermarine Spitfire and Messerschmitt Bf109E as well as some diorama figures and scenics as our first kits. However if our Kickstarter is successfully funded we will begin work on a Hurricane, Defiant, Bf110, Stuka, Blenheim, He111, Do17 and Ju88. After that we have lots of ideas for other collections from WW2, to the Cold War and beyond!
1/144 we feel is an underrated scale, and with modern plastic injection tooling tech, you can make eye popping levels of detail a compact, collector friendly scale. Our intention is to enable painters and modellers to build and collect individual aircraft that they're interested in, or even entire squadrons! So we're hoping to include lots of parts to make different marks of each aircraft, and plenty of decal/marking schemes to choose from. Additionally, they all come with an option for retracted landing gear, as well as optional bladeless propeller spinners so that they can be depicted in flight, on flying bases or displays stands. I'll let some photos of the models do the rest of the talking, but I do hope they'll have some appeal to miniatures painters and tabletop gamers as well as the scale modellers who are already showing such incredible enthusiasm for them, and if you're interested, we'd be so grateful if you would consider supporting us on Kickstarter. I can't post a link in my first thread due to the forum's automod (understandable,) but we're easy to find on google is you search for Beacon Models

Many thanks for having me here, and I hope you'll enjoy our kits
