Hey need some advice here.

Recently purchased an anycubic mono x resin 3D printer.

Every print I've done has failed so far. I've leveled the build plate correctly. I have other 3D printers that don't fail.

However, right after the bottom layer prints the z-axis suddenly seems to change the Z-axis above the VAT. It keeps going up and down like it's printing but it won't go back to the fep or home mid printing.

I've never seen a 3D printer do this.

Is it a safety feature after a failed print that keeps it from going home? Or is it a machine failure or is it a sensor failure?

Really not sure I'm heavily considering returning it now.

That doesn't seem to be a standard behaviour. Have you tried to update the firmware? Maybe something's buggy in there.

If I had to guess it'd be a software/sensing error rather than mechanical. I dont have the mono X but I have seen absolutely zero evidence of any kind of "mechanical safety" surrounding print failures. I have had a print fall off the plate, land at an angle, and then the print head crunch it into the plate and puncture the FEP. If it were mechanical in nature, you'd be able to go in and use the manual up/down to find if there were a burr or something on the threaded rod.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"
