Hello Hive Mind,

I bought my first SC! Genestealer Cults and I am very excited to start this army! I wanted to this for a longer time, but decided to go for Nids first. As I have a small Nids Force and an Imperial Guard Army, this is the perfect link between these forces. My nids scheme is a brown (wyldwood) skintone with green carapace and yellow highlights.

You can find examples here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Tyranids/comments/lvmt2c/my_exocrine/

https://www.reddit.com/r/Tyranids/comments/n3g7rq/new_addition_to_my_hive_fleet_a_trygon/

My imperial Army consists of Catachan models (in my head canon, they are a regiment from another planet) with a green scheme.

The bases are fairly similar, with just a bit of a different flock, so I want to use the same for my GSC to tie it all together. I also thought, as the Tyras and Guard give off the vibe of a foresty planet, to have the headcanon of my GSC of Lumberjacks instead of Miners. The Saws and the Rockgrinder fit the aesthetic as well and I can exchange some picks for axes and stuff. Put some logs on the bases etc. Do you have any more ideas how to go for a more lumberjack way with easy conversions and additions?

And for my main question, the color scheme: I did a lot of green for many armies now, so I want to avoid this. I love to try out some orange, so I'll stick to some of the GW style of Orange jumpsuits, Blue Cloth, grey rubber armour. I like this. What I am racking my head over right now is the skin tone. Like stated, my Nids have a wyldwood skin. This works actually really good as well for a dark human skin, some of my guard are painted like this. I thought I'd go similar as my Guard with a "normal" white and dark skin tone. I like the violett hue of the official scheme, as it gives them some alien appearance but I am not sure, If it works with brown, as it is missing this alien tone. Do you have any ideas what to do with the skin? Neophytes just mixed with white and dark skin tones and acolytes, abonimants and stuff with the brown tone of my nids? Any Ideas on the scheme is welcome. For the vehicles I think I go with a black and yellow scheme with lots of hazard strips, I think this would work well for forestry vehicles.

What do you think of my ideas?

If the brown colour from your exocrine makes a good dark skin tone then you could use that on the more human-looking cultists. They are trying to blend in, after all. For the more alien-looking ones, you could use the bone colour from the exocrine to appply mottling to their heads, like on the backs of these genestealers by Catbarf, but the other way around. Do the big mutant cultists have armour plates on their heads like tyranids? If they do you could use the green from the exocrine there (and only there, since you said you wanted to avoid it) since they're the most alien.

Oh, thats actually a sweet idea. Instead of a more and more darker hue of skin like it is done with the official scheme, spots of dark color might work.

Basically kinda like this:
