Back by popular demand! Keen gamers may recall that Project Z originally launched in 2016. Although the game mechanically remains unchanged, the rules have been updated for clarity and consistency. This re-release has an extremely limited print-run, and will not be made available again when sold out.

The game that pioneered Kill Team 2021's list building system returns!

Personally I'm just really glad for another chance to pick up the biker sprues I missed last time. Rules seemed like a snorefest in the 2016 demo video.

Wasn't I just saying I wish I could that survivor weapon sprue. The models weren't great but I'd bet they mix will with Star Grave dudes.

That's odd. I mean why bother editing a new edition for a one and done deal, why not just reprint?

(You'd also think an international company would know to write out the month rather than say 2/10...)

Smells more of:
"hey did you know we have all these sprues under Bobs desk?"
"If we only had the original files still we could print and box them up."
"Well Fred had redone some of the rules for playing at his house."
"Borrow his copy and we'll buy him dinner, or pay his bar tab...whichever is cheaper."

Prints out however many boxes are needed with updated for Brexit pricing.

Be warned the Wargames Factory, pardon, Warlord Games, Survivors are 32mm truescale while Stargrave are sub-28mm heroic. Apart from heads there's zero mixing potential.

So they're not really bringing it back, are they?

that does sound like the found some sprues

(or sprues that went missing during shipping have shown up again, Middara have just delivered some etched dice the shipper lost for the best part of 2 years that turned up just after they finally decided they needed make another production run of them and placed the order)

The miniatures were sold separately to, so my joke above is more accurate where they found minis and used someones copy of the rules which were updated. I'm sure if they found old rulebooks from a few years ago they were probably not crisp anymore and cheap enough to print a couple dozen books and rules. Heck they could have been from boxes damaged in shipping and might as well make new boxes, reprint the rules and charge slightly more. Who knows how much "New" content there really is. Plus if they can put this years stamp on the book maybe that holds the rights a bit longer in the end. (I really don't want to start the usual copyright couch lawyer conversation here).

Getting pretty tinfoil territory there

No tinfoil territory. Why would they bother to do this unless they had extras. Seriously are they going to run another batch of miniatures and not make the bikers available separately unless they had some left over? I don’t recall this being a huge hit when it came out, the bikers and survivors did decent, but the zombies were meh. Four year old molds not used in a long time, not sure how functional they’d be anyway and cutting new molds just for a limited release wouldn’t justify the costs. They have writers on staff that can make a quick once overto update rules and look at their forum for suggestions to improve the game. Or like I said someone in the office had done so for their home games. It’s not a long stretch, it’s not even a jab at them, it makes sense to sell stuff they have laying about.

They could have made more money selling the bikers the last few years but 3 different shops by me could not get them and they were out of stock online when I looked for them.

There has been one in the past, but that was long ago when Beyond the Gates of Antares was still seeing releases. Plus DakkaDakka just doesn’t seem to be a home of many WWII players, just a different breed as the groups at the local shops don’t see much crossover between 40k and Warlord Games lines.

I’m glad they are re-printing them as I love the kits — I know not everyone does.

Less excited about the threat that they won’t be back after this.

Surprised to hear it is coming back. More surprised to hear it is a limited run. Sounds like GW marketing.

While not everyone loves he minis, the sprues do fill an empty niche. I had the survivors and special ops sprues at one point before selling them on as Mrs. GG does not like post-apoc. I thought they were some of Wargames Factory’s better sets of sculpts.

I fully expected Wargames Atlantic to make something similar to the Project Z sprues to fill the niche.

I really liked the kits. Sculpting was good and realistic and you got a ton of extras.
Only drawback is the limited poses and combinations and the style that does not match anything.
I hope they bring back the spec ops soldiers. Missed them back then and they looked really useful.

That's a true shame. I was planning on getting the bikers in particular, but for me, ordering directly from Warlord isn't always the easiest approach. And with a limited edition, there's no knowing if there will even be a chance.
