Hi all,

Over the last 6 months I got back into the hobby and only now decided to join your community. I'll (maybe) share some pics of the journey i've been on getting au-fait with the funky new ways of painting. Not that i was ever on top of the 'eavy metal style either mind...

What got me back in to this was my parents' throwing out the last of my old stuff and it turning out to be boxes of warhammer... 40k chaos marines (and most of the 2nd edition box-set) i got into kit bashing and what turned out to be a near complete original box of Warhammer Quest. I did an inventory of the WHQ box and then one mistake led to another: i showed it to my son (7), i felt like trying to paint up some of the old stuff, then i wanted to plug some gaps in the original set's miniatures... 6 months later i'm the owner of an airbrush and compressor, i've started using oil paints and my best friend is a Windsor & newton series 7 (size 2 actually).

I've been bitten hard and i guess been able to indulge myself like i never could as a teenager. It's also so much easier to find out what's going on and learn from others with youtube.

My son and i have played quite a few games of WHQ now and my project at the moment is rounding out the entire WHQ level 1 monster table.

Ah metal, yeah pewter is OK in a pinch but for the real aficionado only lead will do.
