Whats your technique for making them? Uv resin? Water effects? Cut up plastic from last week's Chinese takeout?

I've never done it, but I'd start with hot glue. Maybe lay a stripe along a popsicle stick, flip it over, and pull icicles downwards with tweezers or bits of sprue. It will trim easily when cool, is semi translucent, and can be tinted blue with a wash. I've had good luck making flames the same way.

I've seen some people make decent ones of varying sizes from just dobbing a small blob of hot glue then pulling away to string it, let cool, snip off the excess blob end and glue in place.

I have successfully failed. I can't make them look good to save my life... :(

Citadel flying base (the clear ones) and a pair of wire cutters (normal sprue snips may be too soft/have risk of damaging cutting surface).
