I just finished a unit of 4 Primaris marines painted as Ninja Turtles:
https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/802909.page

And I've ordered a Chaos Lord in Terminator armour to paint up as Shredder (using Lightning claws, naturally)

I want to use existing rules to make a sort of kill team style minigame with them. But I'm not sure what's the best balance.

Should I use the rules for Assault Intercessors for the Turtles or Vanguard Vet rules to actually give them varied weapons?
Leo - 2 Power swords,
Raph - 2 lightning claws
Mikey - 2 Power mauls
Don - 1 Power mail and pistol

Or since 2 swords and 2 mauls do nothing, should I give each Turtle 1 of the respective weapons above and a Storm shield (representing their shell?)

For Shredder, is a Terminator Lord with lightning claws too weak (ie I don't want him to die after 1 round of combat)
Or is a Daemon Prince with Malefic claws and better option

If I take a DP, I think I'd need to bring a 5th unit member to balance out points. I am working on a SM Phobos librarian painted as a Clone armour Jedi with green lightsaber.
He could be the VV sgt with relic blade.

Lots to brainstorm. I'd live to hear some suggestions for getting these models on the table.

I like the storm shield idea, pretty nifty
You could run the DP with dual mal. talons as daemon shredder, then take a 5th marine and make him Casey Jones. That way you can kit him however you need from game to game to mimic his bag o' fun.

If you need to bump the turtle’s point up, but want to keep them 4 guys, would bladeguard vets match better? You loose the custom weapons for a flat counts-as, but get the shields and a better statline.

Thanx for the input. I'll look into Blade guard Vets vs a DP

For a 5th friendly unit you could build a marine representing Splinter? Give him the two lightning claws.

Or you could go the route of the upcoming arcade-esque turtles side-scroller and make an April O'Niel.

As for Shredder - I think a Terminator is the more thematically appropriate choice but you can always bump his stats up to be Daemon Prince-Esque.

Either way, I hope you consider making a great unclean one with a brain in its tummy to represent Krang.

Oh, I just had and interesting thought:

Start Shredder as a Terminator Lord with LCs, but once he loses his last wounds he drinks a vile of mutagen and turns into Super Shredder and starts using the DP rules with resorted wounds.

Given that, I definitely need to bump up the Turtles rules. Maybe each one as a LT?

OP: I love this idea.

I'd love to see you kitbash a 40k mini with a Skaven to make space Splinter- I have 3 pet rats, and if I could afford to play AoS in addition to 40k, I would totally have a Skaven army with generals painted with the markings of my boys.

There was a female Turtle called Venus, if I remember correctly. So if you are into female Space Marines...

You remember incorrectly. There has never been a female Ninja Turtle. They've also never met the Power Rangers.
TMNT was absent from all media in the mid-to-late 90s

Agree. It may have been a Nightmare when I was 12. It's been some time since then...

FWIW the IDW comics have a female turtle named Jennika who I think is pretty cool...

... She also has dual-claws.
