Hello All,

I have not got the book on me right now for the word for word citations but will this afternoon.

Wondering how time's arrow interacts with Phoenix Lord's can't take more than 3 wounds a phase ability. Are they immune to Time's arrow, and if not do they just take 3 wounds if the d6 equals their wound characteristic, or are they fully destroyed.

EDIT: I should point out I believe that the Phoenix Lords would be immune to time's arrow above 3 wounds and not take any damage, while below 3, it would kill them.

Thanks Dakka!

It looks like Time's Arrow doesn't deal wounds. It just Destroys if (condition is met). If you meet the condition they are destroyed, they don't take X damage/wounds. So for the same reason you can't reduce the "damage" with a Medic/Apothecary/etc and leave the model alive with X wounds remaining, the Phoenix Lord isn't only half dead.

Edit to Add: Similarly using the ability on a Redemptor with 1 wound remaining doesn't kill the Dread unless you can somehow roll 13+ on 1D6.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.

Yeah sick, thought there might've been some prohibitive wording about it. Good fun

Edit: That's a case of the condition not being met compared to a potentially prohibitive rule I feel.

Its still a fairly reliable Instant Death for 3-4-5 wound models depending on situation with no readily available counter/prevention. Its probably not the best choice but the Vault gets four choices, and its probably one I'd include as a sniper power vs characters.
